Happy New Year

Why do I have to wear a hat? And in the House?
I think it's just cause Foster Mom says I look so "cute" with it on.

Hi everyone. I know it's been a long time since Foster Mom and I checked in, but we promise toget back on track in the New Year...which starts at MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. I don't really understand what the big deal is, but humans semm to think it's imprtant.

I can sit like this for a really long time. Foster Mom says I must be part meerkat.
I hope that's nothing like a real cat!!!

Hope everyone had a really great Christmas. We all did. Lots of neat toys and treats for presents, and lots of goodies. Mom says we all have to go on a diet right after New Year's. That doesn't sound like much fun, and New Years  is tonight, so it's not far away.

On the couch with some of my Christmas toys.

I think we're havng turkey tomorrow. We had A Christmas Goose ( and ham and lots of other good stuff to eat, yum, yum , last week. One last splurge before we DIET!

Hope everyone has a fun time tonight, and we'll see you Next Year!!!

My Pals

On "the rock"

I've been here almost four months now.. We've had a great summer and I've gotten to know the other doggies quite well. We all get along really well.

Gizmo and I on the lawn in front of flower bed

Gizmo is the "baby" of the household. He'l be four years old in December, but he loves to be babied by his Mom and Dad. Foster Mom and Dad adopted him when he was only a puppy.

JoJo and I on the lawn

JoJo arrived here in March. He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix, about seven years old. He  was quite sick when he first got here, but he just tested HW negative, so he's now heartworm free and realy happy and thankful to be well again. He's a foster dog like me.

Booda and I in front of the flower bed back in July

Booda is a ten year old Shih Tzu. He's really a very lucky guy. His birthday was earlier this month and Foster Mom and Dad adoted him.

I would love to have a forever home  I love Foster Mom and Dad, but would really love to have a Mom and Dad of my own. Foster Mom and Dad say I'm a really lovable little dog. But I still have to work at controlling my "territorial" instincts and wariness of strangers... But I'm learning.

Where Did Summer Go?

Just thinking about stuff.

Mom is not leaving the patio door open all day now like she did before.

On warm days she says the flies come in the house. How come they didn't before? And on cooler days she says it's not warm enough to leave the door open all day!!

During the hot summer days our walks were often too short to suit us doggies. But now we get nice long walks, except when it rains. Mom says it doesn't rain enough, that's why the grass is all yellow and brown. Personally I don't care what color the grass is. But Mom says grass should be green in summer, And now summer is gone.

Where did summer go?

This is all very puzzling. Stuff to think about.

Walkie Time

Going out for a walk. That's JoJo on the left, with Gizmo, me and Booda beside Dad

Today Foster Dad took all four of us for a walk all by himself! He said it was quite a challenge to keep our leads from tangling up, because we don't always walk in a nice "orderly" fashion.

In the mornings Foster Mom usually either takes us out two at a time, or she takes out three of us first, and then either Booda or me by ourselves. She says four leads at a time is just too many for her to handle.  For our after dinner walk, Foster Mom and Dad both usually take us all out at the same time.

It was funny to see Foster Dad getting all tangled up, but he didnt get mad or anything. We all love our walks, especially when we all go together.

There's JoJo, off to the side again.  He never seems to stay on the path.

I'm going to miss Gizmo, Booda, JoJo, and especially Foster Mom and Dad when I get adopted and go to my forever home, but it will be nice having my own family again. I wonder what they'll be like. I know they'll be nice. Foster Mom says only loving and caring people are allowed to adopt us LOYAL dogs.

I'm "Fixed"

I spent the day at the vet's Monday. They put me to sleep and the doctor did some surgery on me that made me "fixed'....I didn't know I was broken.

Foster Mom and Dad say I have to take it easy for a little while and can't go for any long walks the rest of this week. That's OK. Going to the vet is never a fun time, and stresses me out. So I need a few days to relax.

The doctor was very nice and said I was a great little guy, but I hope I don't have to go back there for a long long time.

Thunderstorms

Foster Mom likes taking pictures of me in front of the flower bed.

I hate thunderstorms almost as much as I hate fireworks. It started to thunder and lightning right after we got back from our after-dinner walk yesterday. AND there was a really bad. bad wind. The tree on the patio bent all the way over. It was very scary. On our walk this morning we saw lots and lots of branches that had broken off big trees. One tree had the whole top of it broken off.

Going out for a walk.
That's me and Gizmo in the front, with JoJo and Booda  in the back

The lights also went out. So  Foster Mom and Dad opened all the windows and patio door and spread out towels everywhere because it was raining. The open door and windows made the thunder seem really close. But they said we couldn't have them shut because the air conditioning and fans don't  work when the lights go out.

Then they  lit candles so we wouldn't have to sit in the dark,  and Foster Mom and Dad played cards by candlelight  until  the  thunder finally stopped. Then we all went to bed. The lights didn't come back on until the morning.

A Very Stressful Day

I hate going to the vet. But that's where my foster mom took me this morning. She said I had to get up to date on all my shots so I could be listed for adoption.

After poking and proding at me and sticking something in my ears (which I really hate, worse even than needles) she said I was in very good health. She was especially impressed at how great my teeth are. I was almost tempted to let her really see how good they are by giving her a nip. But Foster Mom says nipping at people is a no-no, so I wisely refrained.

I have to go back there in two weeks for something called  'the big snip'. I have a feeling that's a bad thing, but my foster mom says I have to be "fixed', even though there's nothing wrong with me and both Foster Mom and Dad say I'm a really great little Puginese, and very adoptable.

I'm Peeka

Hi, my name is Peeka. I'm a six year old male Pekingese/Pug mix .

I don't know why my family brought me to the shelter, but I can tell you it was very stressful being there. I was very frightened and didn't know what was going to happen to me. I even started to nip at people.

Then a nice lady from LOYAL Rescue came and brought me to her house. There are three other little doggies here. Two of them are fosters like me.

I've been here three days now and I'm beginning to relax a little. My foster parents are very gentle with me and are letting me get used to my new surroundings in my own time. I think I'm going to really like it here.
